Travel back to the ‘80s with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in “Dirty Dancing”.
The classic film tells the love story of Johnny Castle (Swayze) and Baby (Grey) at Kellerman's Resort… okay, so they’re not technically at camp but they’re in the woods during the summer - it feels like it could have been summer camp. But while on vacation with her parents, Baby falls for Johnny, the resort’s bad boy dance instructor.

‘Addams Family Values'
For movie fans who want summer with a Halloween twist will love “Addams Family Values”.
Wednesday and Pugsley Addams attend Camp Chippewa in the flick, and help burn it down as leaders of the rebellion of misfit campers.

‘The Parent Trap’
Make it a “Parent Trap” double feature with both the classic Disney film and its 1998 remake.
The flick follows two identical twin sisters, separated at birth by their parents' divorce, who are reunited years later at a summer camp where they scheme to bring their parents back together. The 1961 version had Hayley Mills in the lead while the ‘90s remake made a star out of Lindsay Lohan.
Both versions of “The Parent Trap” are on Disney+.
Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” is another classic camp-themed movie to watch this summer.
The Oscar-nominated flick follows 12-year-old Sam as he falls in love with Suzy. The pair run away to an island, promoting the entire town to begin a search.
Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand and more star.

‘It Takes Two’
This Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen classic “It Takes Two” follows a similar storyline to “The Parent Trap” but with a twist.
Amanda (Mary-Kate), an orphan, helps rich girl Alyssa (Ashley) find the perfect match for her dad Roger (Steve Guttenberg), that’s where Kirstie Alley’s Diane comes in.
“It Takes Two” is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
While Camp Green Lake, the detention camp, featured in Disney’s “Holes” isn’t a cheery summer camp, we just had to include this Shia LaBeouf classic.
The flick follows wrongfully convicted Stanley (LaBeouf) is sent to a brutal desert detention camp where he joins the job of digging holes for some mysterious reason.
Jon Voight and Sigourney Weaver also star.

Next up on your summer camp movie list is “Heavyweights”.
Starring a young Ben Stiller, Judd Apatow and Kenan Thompson, “Heavyweights” follows “plump” children as they are lured into a camp promising them a quick weight loss but soon find out that the facility is a hellhole run by a psycho ex-fitness instructor (Stiller).
Apatow also penned the screenplay.

‘Ernest Goes To Camp’
Another perfect camp flick is Jim Varney’s iconic character Ernest P. Worrell in “Ernest Goes To Camp”.
The hilarious comedy picks up as Ernest gets assigned to take care of juvenile criminals who are out for a vacation at Kamp Kikakee.
“Ernest Goes To Camp”, which originally premiered in 1987, streams on Amazon Prime Video.
Starring a fresh face Jessica Alba and “Nashville”’s Jonathan Jackson, “Camp Nowhere” is another camp classic.
Also starring Christopher Lloyd, “Camp Nowhere” follows Morris (Jackson) and his pals as they enlist Dennis Van Welker (Christopher Lloyd), an ex-teacher, to pose as a counselor for a fake camp.
A new addition to the Disney lineup, only premiering last year, “Magic Camp” stars Adam Devine and Gillian Jacobs.
“Magic Camp” tells the heartwarming story of Andy as he returns to the magic camp he attended as a child and rediscovers his passion for the art.

‘A Week Away’
Add “A Week Away” to your Netflix queue as the summery musical is the perfect addition to movie binge.
“A Week Away”, which stars Bailee Madison and Kevin Quinn, follows a troubled teenager who attends a summer camp, where he find love and friendship.

‘Rim Of The World’
Netflix added a different kind of camp film it its lineup in 2019, called “Rim Of The World”.
The exciting thriller tells the story of a group of campers who are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. The soon-to-be-friends band together to save the world.

Travel back in time to the ’70s with the epic comedy “Meatballs”.
