The 64th annual Grammy nominations have come and gone and there is plenty to unpack. Here are this year’s biggest nominee snubs and surprises.

Olivia Rodrigo crashed onto the scene earlier this year with her smash hit "drivers license", and it's truly paid off for her! The 18-year-old Disney alum, is up for Best Album for her debut album "Sour, as well as Record of The Year and Song of the Year for "Drivers License".

While we're sure "Red (Taylor's Version)" is sure to snag a bunch of Grammy nom's for 2023, it's a bit shocking to find out that "Evermore" only gained one, especially considering how much it's predesor "Folkore" gained!
“Red (Taylor’s Version)” is the No. 1 album in the country. Still, a tiny violin doesn’t take up much space so let’s bust it out to acknowledge that, despite all the acclaim, Swift received only one nomination this year: Her soft pandemic comforter “Evermore” is among the album of the year contenders, but that’s it. Still, she can rest easily knowing that, like perhaps only Beyoncé, her very absence is a kind of presence.

In a shocking turn of events, Lana Del Rey who usually always gets some Grammy nominations received none this year with her album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club. However, Jack Antonoff did receive a nominated for Producer of the Year for his work with Lana on the record, but the album itself did not get one.

Machine Gun Kelly was one of many artists who released new music this year who shockingly did not receive a nomination. And let's just say the rapper wasn't too thrilled about it. He posted to Twitter saying "wtf is wrong with the grammys.”

After winning two Grammy awards, Lil Nas X is nominated again in 2022 across a variety of categories. His song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is up for Record of the Year and Song Of The Year. Plus, his full album is nominated for Album of the Year. Meanwhile, his “Industry Baby” collab with Jack Harlow received a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

"Who Says" dreams don't come true?! Selena Gomez ventured off her usual pop music past and released a Spanish album as a passion project titled "Revelación". This album has earned her a Grammy nomination in the Best Latin Pop Album category.

Miley dropped her critically acclaimed rock album, Plastic Hearts, and although it was praised by fans as the singer tried a new genre, turns out it wasn't Grammy-worthy... But no hard feelings though, Miley took to Twitter and posted an article with a bunch of other hitmakers who've never won Grammys and wrote "In good company.”

Now that the iconic Swedish pop group ABBA is back and better than ever, their first album in 40 years has earned them their first ever Grammy nomination! The group earned a Record of the Year nod for "I Still Have Faith in You."

Despite being a global sensation and breaking multiple records, huge K-Pop groups are shafted from the Grammy nominations yet again including the likes of BLACKPINK, Monsta X, and BTS. Thankfully, BTS did earn a nom for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit "Butter". However, the Grammy's has a long way to go in terms of recognizing K-Pop talent.

The Weeknd finally gets a Grammy nom, well sort of. After announcing he'd plans to boycott future Grammy awards after his 2021 snub,
but he secured three Grammy nominations for the 2022. The Weeknd is featured on Kanye West’s song “Hurricane,” which received a nom for Best Melodic Rap Performance. The singer is also a featured artist on two Album of the Year nominees, West’s Donda and Doja Cat’s Planet Her (Deluxe). So though the nom's are for him specifically, he is in associate on them!

Having be snubbed for her album not being eligible in the Best Country Album category for being "too pop", Kacey Musgraves did earn some well-deserve nominations in the country genre for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for her song, “Camera Roll.” How's that for a Breadwinner?!
