Actor and musician Bob McGrath, best known for being one of the original stars of “Sesame Street“ died at 90.
McGrath, who starred as the friendly neighbour Bob Johnson, made his debut on the long-running TV series back in 1969, during its pilot episode. He became a “Sesame Street” staple, appearing on the show for five decades and 47 seasons.

Christine McVie, iconic co-lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, has passed away at age 79 after a short illness.
The vocalist and keyboardist became one of the iconic British band’s key members after joining the group in 1970. McVie wrote a number of the band's biggest and more acclaimed hits, including “Don’t Stop”, “Little Lies”, “Oh Daddy” and “Songbird”.

Before starring as computer hacker Theo in 1988’s “Die Hard”, Gilyard Jr. portrayed naval flight officer Marcus “Sundown” Williams in 1986’s “Top Gun”.

Cara starred in the 1980 hit movie “Fame” and sang the film’s title cut. She then went on to belt out the era-defining hit “Flashdance … What a Feeling” from 1983′s “Flashdance”.

Wilko Johnson, best known for his role in “Game of Thrones” and as one of the most influential guitarists in British rock music, is dead at 75.
Johnson starred in two seasons of “GOT” as the mute executioner Ser Ilyn Payne and was a former member of the English rock band Dr. Feelgood. He became popular for his distinctive guitar-playing style, relying on fingerstyle instead of using a pick. In 2012, Johnson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told it was terminal.

Best known for his work as a voice actor, Conroy held the distinction of voicing Batman in "Batman: The Animated Series", which ran from 1992 until 1996. He ultimately gave voice to the Dark Knight in 15 different series, comprising more than 400 episodes, and 15 animated films.

“Harry Potter” actor Leslie Phillips has passed away at age 98. The English actor’s agent confirmed that Phillips died “peacefully in his sleep.”

The musician will be remembered for his five studio albums, especially his fifth studio album Blacklisted, which was released one day after his death, and for his time acting as a Nickelodeon star.

Takeoff, one third of the hip hop trio Migos, died after a fatal shooting in Houston, Texas. The rapper, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was the youngest member of Migos alongside Quavo and Offset.
Takeoff will be remembered for his contribution to Migos’ chart-topping success, as well as his solo album The Last Rocket, released in 2018.

K-Pop singer Lee Jihan has died at age 24 after a crowd tragedy in Seoul, South Korea.
The young entertainer first gained fame competing on the second season of the popular reality singing competition series “Produce 101”, where 101 contestants all vie for a chance to join an 11-member K-pop group. He then made his way into acting, appearing in the popular Korean drama series “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day”.

Lifelong activist and musician, Patrick Haggerty, has died at 78.
Haggerty was the frontman of Lavender Country, a music group that is believed to be the first openly gay country band. They recorded their debut album Lavender Country in 1973. Haggerty will also be remembered for speaking out for various causes, including gay rights, anti-racist justice, tenants’ rights and many more. He even ran for a city council position twice.

Loretta Lynn, the legendary, trailblazing coal-miner’s daughter turned country star, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. She was 90.
Known for penning ardently honest songs about sex, love, unfaithful husbands, abortion and divorce that bucked expectations of what kind of music female country singers should be making, Lynn presented herself as a strong and even defiant woman in an era when male country stars dominated the airwaves and the cultural agenda.
Lynn made her biggest hits in the ‘60s and ‘70s with tracks like “Coal Miner’s Daughter”, “You Ain’t Woman Enough”, “The Pill”, “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)”, “Rated X” and “You’re Looking at Country.”
In 1976, she published a memoir titled, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” The book was later adapted into the 1980 movie by the same name. The film garnered actress Sissy Spacek an Oscar for her portrayal of Lynn and also a Best Picture nomination.

Inoki was best known for his 1976 wrestling-vs.-boxing match with Muhammad Ali , which ultimately ended in a draw.
Inoki also dabbled in acting, appearing in a small role in 1978's "The Bad News Bears Go To Japan" and, more recently, in the 2009 Japanes drama "Acacia", starring as a retired pro wrestler who's become a recluse and strikes up a friendship with a young boy.

In addition to "Heartland", Cormier appeared in such series as "Designated Survivor", "Ransom" and "American Gods".

The Grammy-nominated musician died peacefully in his Los Angeles home according to the announcement by his sisters.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle Jesse Powell. He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home," Tamara Powell wrote.
Trina Powell added, “We want you all to know that you meant the world to him.”
Jesse was known for his popular 1999 song “You” which was part of his self-titled debut album.

Griggs had been battling cervical cancer.

In addition to her role with The Seekers — who sold more than 50 million albums — Durham went on to a successul solo career with such hits as "Georgy Girl", "I'll Never Find Another You" and "A World of Our Own".
Despite her solo success, Durham continued singing with The Seekers over the years.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued a statement on Durham's passing, describing the singer as "a national treasure and an Australian icon."

The BBC reported Warner died of a cancer-related illness.

Rising to prominence during the French New Wave film movement of the late '50s and '60s, Trintignant made a name for himself in Roger Vadim's "And God Created Woman".
He went on to appear in many films, including the Italian classics "The Great Silence" and "The Conformist", as well as François Truffaut's final film, "Confidentially Yours".
In 2012, Trintignant appeared opposite Emmanuelle Riva in Michael Haneke's Best Picture-nominated drama "Amour". He also won Nest Actor at France's César Awards for his performance in the film.

Hall, who played Lt. Joe Bookman on the much-loved TV series, passed away peacefully.

Jacks had been awaiting a second kidney transplant due to complications from infections.
She was a major figure in the Canadian music scene as lead singer of the Poppy Family, which included then-husband Terry Jacks. They also produced the hit "Where Evil Grows".
Jacks has a son, as well as six siblings and two half-siblings.

Before joining Foo Fighters, Hawkins was a member of the touring band for Sass Jordan and Alanis Morrissette. He was also a member of the progressive rock band Sylvia.
During his years with Foo Fighters, he also stepped out on occasion as frontman of his side project, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, which released three albums. Hall, better known as Razor Ramon, underwent hip surgery but was placed on life support following three heart attacks on March 13.

English rock band Procol Harum’s frontman, Gary Brooker, has died at 76. The singer-songwriter and pianist who co-wrote and sang the band’s classic 1967 hit “A Whiter Shade of Pale”, died from cancer on Feb. 19 from his home.

Her doctor announced she died of multiple organ failure at the hospital.

The legendary actor was the first Black winner of the Best Actor Oscar for his role in “Lilies of the Field” in 1963.
He had a prolific career spanning over 55 films from 1947 to 2001 and notably made three films in 1967 at a time when segregation still loomed over the United States.
Outside of his acting career, Poitier was also a respected humanitarian and diplomat.
"We celebrate the life of a great Bahamian: a cultural icon, an actor and film director, an entrepreneur, civil and human rights activist and, latterly, a diplomat," Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis said in a speech broadcast on Facebook. “His strength of character, his willingness to stand up and be counted and the way he plotted and navigated his life's journey.”

He died on Jan. 6 in his home in Los Angeles of natural causes, according to his daughter Antonia.
