"An Officer and a Gentleman" actor David Keith took on the role of Elvis in Chris Columbus' 1988 comedy "Heartbreak Hotel".
Inspired by a popular legend, the film is about a kid who kidnaps Elvis as a present for his mom, only to become friends by the end.

Elvis isn't a big character in "True Romance", but he's a huge presence, ad it was Val Kilmer who brought him to life in the film.
Credited only as "The Mentor", Kilmer's Elvis appears briefly to give Christian Slater's Clarence some much-needed pep talks, written by screenwriter Quentin Tarantino and directed with appropriate panache by Tony Scott.

Playing on the legend that Elvis never really died, "Finding Graceland" stars Harvey Keitel as an aging grifter who claims to be the iconic rock 'n roller, alive and well after having staged his own death in the '70s.
He ends up hitching a ride with a young man, finding themselves on a road trip to Memphis.

In cult favourite "Bubba Ho-Tep", Bruce Campbell plays a nursing home resident who is either Elvis himself, or perhaps just an extreme confused old Elvis impersonator.
Either way, he ends up teaming up with a fellow resident, played by Ossie Davis, who believes he's JFK, in order to fight off an evil ancient Egyptian spirit.
